A recent survey by popular home phone information website Homephonechoices.co.uk pointed out that many United Kingdom residents are for the most part completely unwilling to switch home phone suppliers. This holds true even when the same users have the chance to save a great deal of money every year. It is almost as if there is a tradition among UK homes to stick with the tried and true. Certainly many UK households do not consider the possibility of switching phone companies because they suspect there will be high charges involved for the installation of a new phone line. What most are unaware of is that companies like BT and Virgin Media have special offers in place that can negate the cost of a new phone line installation. BT’s charge of 128 pounds is cut to zero if you sign up for any of their Talk, Surf and Watch plans. These plans let users enjoy unlimited phone calls, internet surfing and TV programmes at one set price. Virgin Media was charging customers 49 pounds for a new installation but recently reduced that price to free. The truth is switching phone companies pays off in huge savings every year. Every home phone supplier has special incentives for coming into their fold. These vary from month to month. So while you may leave BT for Virgin one year, you might very well decide to come back to BT the next if they have the best sign up incentive.
