BRISTOL, October 8th 2009 –
Suaju Ltd, one of the UK’s top LEAN software outsourcing companies has yet again shown that it is at the front of the field with regard to innovative software outsourcing and global software solutions. Their recent appearance at the LEAN Government Conference at Central Hall Westminster in London puts them at the top of their field. The conference held on the 30th September 2009 brought together leading innovators and many of the leaders in influential thought with regard to Lean software management such as:

Sir Michael Bichard, Director, Institute for Government
Greg Hands MP, Shadow Economic Secretary to the Treasury
Graham White, Director of HR, Westminster City Council
Ben Jupp, Director of Public Services Strategy and Innovation, The Cabinet Office
Keith Davis, Director of Efficiency Practice, National Audit Office

Suaju’s appearance at the conference has shown how the UK based company is forging ahead with its credibility in the software outsourcing sector. The concept of Lean thinking as applied to software development is a relatively new approach.

According to Wikipedia:

It holds that ‘everything not adding value to the Customer is considered to be waste’. This would include such factors as
* unnecessary code and functionality
* delay in the software development process
* unclear requirements
* bureaucracy
* slow internal communication

To complement this Suaju have appeared in the October edition of the Public Servant Magazine in the LEAN government section below Sir Michael Bichard’s Article.

Because Suaju are based in the UK and represent their clients to the global workforce, the usual issues associated with software outsourcing are no longer a headache for their clients. The biggest concerns flagged by software outsourcing contracts are the language barriers and lack of transparency in the pricing structures presented at the inception of the project. This last objection has lead to unexpected costs being presented at the 11th hour, causing real budgeting issues when a project is close to completion. None of this is an issue when Suaju are involved. For each project Suaju keeps a technical and non-technical presence in the UK (with the current approximate ratio being of 1:3, i.e. 1/3rd in the UK and 2/3rd overseas) so the client does not need to deal with any issues overseas.

The use of distributed teams of developers that spans the globe means that costs can be reduced. The secondary effect this can have is that the actual spend can be broadened past the actual software production into other areas that can sometimes be overlooked due to budgetary constraints. Areas such as future proofing, help and support services and maintainability of the software. How many companies have produced excellent software that fulfills all its design brief requirements but falls short at the end user functionality? Suaju have such a range of expertise to bring to this field that their combined knowledge has often flagged some of these issues at inception rather than after release – a massive bonus for their clients.

The conjunction of Suaju and Lean thinking can only be seen as a valued move forward in the world of software development. Those shrewd enough to spot this as a time and cost saving innovation will jump on the opportunity to work with Suaju and the adoption of Lean thinking principles.

Suaju can currently be seen attending at the Outsourcing Institute ‘Outsourcing 2.0 from Theory to Reality’ event sponsored by Morrison Foerster (MoFo) in London 8th October.
Suaju attended the working knowledge event ‘City of Bristol College Plunge 23rd September 2009′ giving advice on strategy and operations.

Suaju attended the Technology World Road Show at the Aztec West Hotel, Bristol this is a build up for the TechnologyWorld09 to be held on the 23-24 Nov 2009 at the Ricoh Arena Coventry UK. This event is supported by the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

As a result of Suaju exhibiting at the DSEi Suaju’s presence has increased in the Defence market leading to be successful event.
