Microbite Anticipate UK Computer Parts Sales Following Intel ‘Sandy Bridge’ Announcement

Processor producing giant Intel has recently announced an extension to its ‘Sandy Bridge’ line. With price cuts to the existing range alongside the introduction of 16 new designs, Intel could be throwing spares sourcing company Microbite an inventorial bone.
Since the release of the first ‘Sandy Bridge’-based processors on January 9th 2011, Intel’s new processor microarchitecture has become more competitive. Now that the range is becoming more affordable, Microbite hopes to benefit from an influx of second-hand processors appearing in the computer parts UK market as consumers upgrade to newer Intel parts.
Intel will follow this further expansion into the budget market with a new extreme performance offering towards the end of the fourth quarter. The i7 will soon be joined by the i7 Extreme at the top-end of the Intel ‘Sandy Bridge’ range. The specification-savvy consumer will be drooling at the thought of 12 Mb of cache, 6 cores, 12 threads, and a clock speed of 3.46 GHz. So what do these impressive sounding numbers mean? Simply put, the new i7 Extreme will be amongst the most capable multitasking processors in the world aimed at the home enthusiast.
Following initial controversy surrounding a flawed chipset at the point of release, ‘Sandy Bridge’-based processors have gone on to perform reasonably well. However with this drop in prices, Microbite anticipate that many users with older PCs lacking in the graphics department will be persuaded to upgrade by a combination of low pricing and on-board graphics processing. Whilst this would boost Intel’s sales figures, it would also boost processor resale figures and increase the revenue generated by Microbite.
Analysts have argued that the greatest profit making potential for processors incorporating graphics processing could be in the downsized computer market. In the quest for ever-smaller computers, dedicated graphics cards have proved one of the greatest obstacles. As a general rule of thumb, the latest and greatest graphics cards occupy a large volume of space inside computer cases and are often accompanied by heavyweight cooling systems due to their propensity for generating heat. Unlike in a server case, the case of a notebook or handheld computer does not have this space to spare.
As demand increases for more portable computers, the demand will increase for better processor multitasking. In terms of gaming capability, desktop and laptop PCs have struggled to compete with the burgeoning console market. Part of the problem lies in the comparatively cumbersome separation of processing functions within a typical PC. This makes parts less well integrated and less cost effective to produce, translating into higher prices for the consumer.
Nevertheless Microbite will continue to thrive selling replacement parts. You can buy server accessories and everything but the kitchen sink in confidence from this reputable supplier.

Parts sourcing company Microbite have the answer to all your computer parts uk needs. You can buy server accessories, parts and even your server case from their comprehensive catalogue.

Cheap Landline Calls With Skype Adaptor

Skype has long had the monopoly on internet voice communication. Now a new adaptor has been released that allows you to make Skype calls via your home phone, without interrupting your normal landline service.
The FREETALK Connect Me Home Phone Adaptor is a clever device which allows you to make Skype-to-Skype calls, and Skype to mobile and landline calls. Not only that but you can still use your landline as normal. Connect Me can have Skype work in conjunction with a landline, acting as a bridge between your existing physical home phone, Skype, and your landline. All you have to do is connect the Connect Me to your router and your landline phone handset.
There are a number of bundles available in the United States already. They include more than 60 minutes of free calls to landlines and mobiles via Skype and 3-month Unlimited World subscription to the US and Canada plus landlines in 40 other countries, amongst others.
Neil Stevens, Skype’s Vice President and general manager for product and marketing has said that “Our mission is to make Skype available everywhere so consumers can enjoy conversations whenever and wherever they are.” He went on to say that “We are delighted to have partners that help us deliver on this mission through the introduction of new products like Connect Me. Now, using Skype at home is as simple as picking up a handset and dialing.”
It certainly seems like something that just about anybody would be able to use. Simply set up the Skype account for an elderly relative and they would have to worry significantly less about calling rates. If you’re a student you’ll be able to phone home when you’re out of mobile credit for absolutely nothing, which could certainly come in handy.
Although this adaptor may not be an entirely free phone line, it is certainly close, allowing aspects of your calling to be free. Skype have long offered competitive rates for making both local and international phone calls, thus this could be the answer to all of your cheap landline needs.

Young Yorkshire Drivers Are Unable to Find Best Breakdown Cover

Young drivers in Yorkshire are finding it increasingly difficult to find affordable car insurance policies simply thanks to their postcode.
Premiums in Bradford East are amongst the highest in the country, and young people are particularly feeling the strain. Leah Greaves passed her driving test three months ago but is unable to find insurance that she can afford. The best breakdown cover quotation she could find for an old Corsa was £4,000, and one company quoted her £53,000.
So what can be done about the ever increasing cost of breakdown recovery for those in the Bradford area? Liberal Democrat MP David Ward is to present a wishlist of proposals to the Government based on a survey he has undertaken. He has also set up an online petition demanding more affordable cover, tougher policing of uninsured drivers and tighter regulations on claims companies. The petition will be presented to the Department for Transport.
Mr Ward’s survey attracted a fair amount of attention, with 1,000 constituents replying. The results showed that annual premiums had risen by 63 per cent on average since 2009, and that some areas were simply deemed as uninsurable by many insurance companies.
“For young people in particular, it can cost them a job. A young driver may not apply for a position if they have to travel to Halifax or Leeds and cannot insure their vehicle affordably” says the MP.
But it isn’t just young people who are spending hours attempting to compare breakdown cover in order to find something within their price range. Some motorists had struggled to find insurance despite having gone 30 years without making a claim. They were suffering simply because they had a Bradford postcode.
An ABI spokesman has stated that “Sadly, young drivers are 10 times more likely to be killed or seriously hurt on the road. The best way to reduce their insurance premiums is to make them safer drivers.” His suggestion is that the Government needs to “change the way people learn to drive, through a graduated licence scheme, where people get to drive at night or in different conditions.”

Renewable Energy More Cost Effective Than Fixed Price Energy?

Many energy companies offer fixed price energy offers in order to give their customers peace of mind when it comes to their monthly bills. You might try to compare energy prices to keep your bills down as well. However it seems that renewable energy is looking more and more appealing for many, with Barclay’s investing a sizeable amount into the field.
The bank has launched a £100m fund in order to help farmers finance their renewable energy efforts and keep their business electricity prices down. Projects include things such as solar panels, organic waste power, and wind farms.
According to research undertaken by Barclay’s, not only do four out of five farmers recognise that renewable energy can provide significant cost savings, but 60% expect it to generate additional income, and 37% of UK farmers are expecting to invest in renewable energy.
There’s a real need for investment in renewable energy sources if Britain want to make it to their target of having 15% of the country’s energy being renewable by 2020. Last year the country was at 7.4%, and since then the UK government has cut state support for large-scale solar plants as it was concerned that commercial projects would take up money intended for smaller community projects.
It isn’t just Barclay’s who have been investing in renewable energy either. The Royal Bank of Scotland launched a £50m fund that targeted wind and solar power. They have said that if demand was high then they would increase the amount in the fund.
Barclays head of agriculture, Martin Refearn, has said that they are focusing upon wind and solar as that is “where the farmer interest it.” He has also said that farmers are seeing renewable energy as a “win-win” situati “lower costs and an increased income, and the majority expect the investment to pay for itself in under 10 years.”
Meurig Raymond, NFU deputy president, has endorsed the scheme, saying that “Given the significant up-front costs of renewables technologies, commercial lending is essential to unlocking these opportunities, so it’s great to see Barclays committing to make additional funding to the sector.”

IBM and Fujitsu both claim server case market share

Recent reports from a top market research company, which pertain to the movement of the server market in the last year, have exposed the relationship between different server manufacturers, and their market share in relation to each other.

The Market researching company Gartner has just published their figures for the server market, taking in all four corners of the globe, and the figures are certainly positive. At the moment it appears that there has been a fantastic revenue growth of around twenty percent throughout the industry, based in shipment growth of eight percent, which indicates yet further that there is a rise occurring in sale prices.

Despite the healthy rise in prices within the server market, it is very interesting to note the changes in the market share out there at the moment. Hewlett Packard is still sitting in number one spot at the moment, but they have lost a little of their market share to both IBM and Fujitsu, with Fujitsu actually doubling their revenue in the last year. Sales of their server case have obviously been high, and it appears that across the board in terms of server sales they have had a remarkable increase both in terms of units and profit levels.

Fujitsu are clearly coming from a weaker position than the other companies we are looking at here, but it is interesting to note that although they only enjoy a relatively small proportion of the market at around seven percent, it is certainly one of the fastest growing market shares out there, and they will be very happy indeed with their current trajectory.

It does appear that for both companies, the price that they are charging for their servers means that they are able to make a gain in their market. It is obviously a fact of life that if something is more affordable, more people are going to be able to buy what you are offering, and the same applies if you want to buy server parts or a server. Of course, both companies have a huge range of different products in this market, and some of the products like blade servers have been selling incredibly well.

Of course, a cautionary note has to be sounded, because despite this upturn in fortunes for both companies, it has to be said that the market is still not where it was several years ago before the downturn. things may be picking up, but there is still a long way to go for companies that are battling it out in this tricky and at times volatile market place. The figures for both companies next year will make interesting reading, and if both IBM and Fujitsu can continue their upward trajectory in the sever market, both will be happy.
